These episodes of everyday life combine fact and fiction, where film technique transforms each performer’s personal story into the narrative of a feature film and explores possible and improbable connections.
Here, we find it all: fictional directors, film lovers, dream chasers, and stories of love and loss. We find stories about ordinary people who are extraordinary. A fictional autobiography with a choral structure, created using a unique approach to the performers’ particularities, idiosyncrasies and experiences – the protagonists of a poetic and distinctive cinéma vérité.
After the film, there will be a Q&A session with the audience.
About the project
Era Como Um Filme was created in the aftermath of 'Meio no Meio', a multidisciplinary project with a focus on dance. The project promoted the empowerment and active citizenship of young people and adults in different situations of social risk living in the four municipalities associated with Artemrede: Almada, Barreiro, Lisbon and Moita. The project, sponsored by the PARTIS initiative (2019-2022), involved two intergenerational groups who participated in training sessions led by Victor Hugo Pontes (dance) and four local artists specialising in theatre, film, visual arts, and music. The training process resulted in the co-creation of a multidisciplinary show.
