This painting belongs to a genre known as ‘still life’, but what exactly does this mean? Are the natural elements dead or alive? And why did painters pay so much attention to still life? In this session we’ll reflect on these questions and create our own still life.
After the visit to the Gulbenkian Collection: Great Works exhibition, drawing exercises will be held in Room 3.
Participants must bring their own drawing materials.
Suggested materials: HB, 2B, 6B pencils, graphite bar, charcoal bar (willow) and white dry pastel.
