Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationConsidered the new generation’s Voice of Morna (World Heritage), Cremilda Medina is one of the most respected interpreters of traditional Cape Verdean music. She carries with her the heritage and tradition of São Vicente, the birthplace of Cesária Évora, while mixing it with a new musical flavour and a unique interpretation.
She has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Cape Verdean music. With Cesária Évora, Bana, Titina Rodrigues, Morgadinho and Paulino Vieira as her main references, Cremilda is committed to building a musical career based on the honouring of traditional Cape Verdean styles.
