Various authors of the French Enlightenment, such as Montesquieu and Voltaire, disseminated ideas of freedom, equality and tolerance through texts that ended up being censored, despite often being published anonymously or in secret.

On this visit, curator Ana Maria Campino guides us as we discover some of these ‘forbidden books’ in the Gulbenkian Collection.
