Book presentation: «The Incoherence of the Philosophers», by Al-Ghazali

Event Slider

A conversation featuring Catarina Belo, Khalid Jamal, Fabrizio Boscaglia, and Maria Leonor Xavier on the legacy of Al-Ghazali (Baghdad, 11th-12th centuries), a prominent figure in Sunni Muslim thought who produced a vast body of work in theology, philosophy, and Islamic mysticism.

Emphasizing divine omnipotence, Al-Ghazali integrated mysticism within Islamic disciplines. In his critiques of philosophers like Avicenna, who were more influenced by Greek thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle, Al-Ghazali argued against their systems for straying from Islamic doctrine and practice.
