Black Corporeal (Between This Air) is a short film created by Sierra Leonean visual artist and poet julianknxx.

Commissioned by WeTransfer, this short film invokes the essence of two of julianknxx’s most arresting poems: ‘This Air’ and ‘Can’t Breathe’. Alternating between video, spoken word and live music, the film offers a metaphysical exploration of breath, filmed in lockdown 2020 in the Barbican Conservatory. The film premiered at Whitechapel Gallery’s Nocturnal Creatures 2021 and has since been exhibited at Utah’s Museum of Contemporary Art as part of the show Air.
