Memories of the Great War

According to historical sources, in the first half of the 18th century, there already existed a “martial band” entitled “charamela” in the navy. In 1807, the group accompanied the royal family on their flight to Brazil. In 1903, the “Band of the Marines” staged what proved to be among the first recordings made in Portugal with a total of 26 works (and just as many records) of which there is one existing example in Portugal with the remaining 25 in the EMI archives in the United Kingdom.

Over time, the Navy Band has undertaken work of great public interest whether in terms of military ceremonials and state protocols or in the cultural field. The band has been led by Lieutenant-Captain MUS Délio Gonçalves since 2010.

Maximum 2 tickets per person.
