The celebrated Russian pianist Grigory Sokolov is not known for publicly expressing his admiration for new performers, but he made a rare exception of the young Russian Alexandra Dovgan, just 12 years old at the time. Sokolov stated that “You can’t call Alexandra Dovgan a child prodigy, because although she’s a prodigy she doesn’t play like a child. What we hear is the interpretation of an adult.” After winning over the juries of international competitions and dazzling audiences in some of the most prestigious venues in the world, Dovgan debuts at Gulbenkian Música with a programme that will showcase her astonishing artistic sensitivity and technical maturity.
