On National Garden Day, we will talk about gardens of the future with landscape architect Aurora Carapinha, as we walk through the Gulbenkian Garden.

Designed 60 years ago, the Gulbenkian Garden revolutionized the idea and design of gardens in Portugal.

What it represents, the ideas it proposes, and the ecological role it plays in the context of the Urban Green Structure, were the result of an innovative, visionary approach which made of it, at the time, a Garden of the Future, or rather, the Garden of the Future.

Today, as we are that future, the Gulbenkian Garden still keeps surprising us, as it responds assertively to society’s and the environment’s main issues, as posed by the new world.

This tour is part of the Festival Jardins Abertos  programme.
