A poetry workshop can also be a workshop in looking.
What if writing were another way of looking? How can a poem prolong a gesture, a material, a form or a question raised by a work of art? Reading poems that bring poetry into dialogue with other artistic practices, we will try writing exercises that draw on different ways of observing, responding to, prolonging and displacing what a work stirs in us.
The workshop culminates in a session of writing in response to the works on display and in a shared reading of the texts in the gallery. It is open to anyone who enjoys reading, writing and living with words.
Poetry in the na galeria
Poetry in the Gallery is a series of poetry workshops led by established poets, designed to offer deeper spaces for experimenting with the spoken and written word in close relationship with the works of art on display at the CAM. Each workshop ends with a Poetry in the Gallery moment, in which the young poets speak their poems beside the works that inspired them, appearing unannounced before the visitors present..
