Learning Space Centro de Arte Moderna GulbenkianThe body is an agent that is part of us. It is therefore also a living tool that can be widely applied in the field of the arts, with enormous expressive and communicative potential.
We propose an encounter between educational and artistic practices, through the mediation of the artwork, based on the language of movement. The aim is to foster the acquisition of pedagogical tools and new perspectives on the potential of the school curriculum and the school-museum relationship, contributing to a more fluid connection between art and life.
We will start from the exhibition Lugares que se desenham with the idea of creating meeting points between the visual and performing arts, where the real and the imaginary intersect and new possibilities are mapped between the physicality of form and the plasticity of the body, through experiencing new relationships between the body, the artworks and the exhibition space.
Throughout the course, tools for thinking about the artwork will be shared, alongside different proposals for exploring movement, performance and choreographic composition, based on a methodology of diversification and inclusion that generates diverse and adaptable educational resources.
The course begins with participation in a dance performance by final-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Dance, as part of the Dançar Arte partnership project between ESD and CAM. The course concludes with the presentation of the collective creation and a conscious review of the concepts and methodologies learned throughout this journey.
This course aims to expand the creative and reflective dimension of the body itself and its relationship with others and with space, through works of art and dance. It is intended for teachers from different levels of education, as well as other professionals in the fields of education and dance.
Accredited course. It is included in the portfolio of the National Arts Plan Academy and will be accredited by the Centro de Formação João Soares (accreditation in progress).
