Grid, Fence, Excavations, Land Deposits and Land’s Current State
Blueprint included in a set of studies developed by the landscape architects – precautionary measures – in which a set of actions was defined to be carried out before starting the 1st works.
The various precautionary measures include:
– Stripping of top soil – since 1958 it had been improving according to Azevedo Coutinho’s guidelines – and its deposition in land piles, where the improvement continued [i], in an area where the final project phase would take place.
– Identification of species and evaluation of health status. This analysis follows the phytosanitary survey carried out by architects Azevedo Coutinho and Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles, in order to preserve the arboreal cover of the Santa Gertrudes Park, constituting a matrix in the construction of the park with regard to the vegetation system.
