Evaluating our work

We develop evaluation and learning plans, in consultation with the organisations we support, for each of our strands

Valuing the Ocean – Just Ideas has been commissioned to undertake an independent evaluation of Valuing the Ocean Phase Two and help us implement a learning and evaluation framework across the strand. DP Evaluation reviewed and helped us develop with partners our Theory of Change and the evaluation framework for Phase Two.

Civic Role of Arts Organisations – We have commissioned Mark Robinson of Thinking Practice to evaluate this work.

Previous programmes

Participatory Performing Arts – Jo Burns worked with the Sharing the Stage cohort to produce an evaluation toolkit designed to help secure high quality consistent data collection across supported projects.

We are now piloting this toolkit and we will share findings in 2019.

We produced a report on learning from the first phase of funding which supported research and development for projects (2015). In 2019 we will be producing a similar report on the second phase (2016-2018) which will draw on the data collected by projects using the toolkit.

Transitions in Later Life – Swansea University will be evaluating the Transitions in Later Life programme. Bright Purpose has worked with us and partners to develop and implement an evaluation framework and evaluation toolkit for the strand based on our Theory of Change. This work has been supported by the Centre for Ageing Better. In 2017 we published Brightpurpose’s evaluation report into our pilot projects.
