Giacomo Puccini
One of the most popular operas of all time, La Bohème is a fascinatingly timeless portrait of the lives of artists and bohemians. The basis for the libretto that Leoncavallo presented to Puccini is found in a series of texts – entitled Scenes from Bohemian Life – that Henry Murger published in a Parisian newspaper, describing the fervent unrest in Paris in the mid-19th century. In this acclaimed staging by Franco Zeffirelli, we find soprano Juliana Grigoryan and tenor Freddie De Tommaso, two of the most captivating voices in opera today.
