From the novel by Russian writer Alexander Pushkin, Tchaikovsky created one of his most impressive operas. Eugene Onegin tells the story of the character of the same name, with whom the young Tatiana falls hopelessly in love. Onegin ends up rejecting her, only to meet her again years later, with the roles reversed. After her highly praised debut at the Metropolitan Opera, soprano Asmik Grigorian takes on one of the greatest roles in the repertoire, with baritone Igor Golovatenko in the role of Onegin. Deborah Warner, one of opera’s most renowned directors, is responsible for the staging.
