NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organisations) hosted a conference on the theme of Social Justice Philanthropy on the 1st of March, 2013.

Figures from some of the UK’s leading philanthropic institutions, including the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust and the Barrow Cadbury Trust, met to discuss the term and its implications for practice and policy.

The Director of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s UK Director, Andrew Barnett, presented a speech on the topic.

Social Justice Philanthropy: Implications for Practice and Policy is an ongoing research project, conducted by Balihar Sanghera, Kate Bradley and Emily Robinson from the University of Kent and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, and part of a wider project looking at Charity and Social Redistribution.
