Public Engagement for Climate Change: A Literature review

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (UK Branch) has partnered with the Centre for Public Impact (CPI) to conduct a review of the literature on public engagement for climate action, seeking to understand effective ways to engage the public on meaningful behaviour change that can aid in achieving net zero emissions goals. This research was commissioned to support the scoping for our Citizen Engagement on Climate programme, which intends to demonstrate what effective public engagement on climate looks like and help create the conditions for its scaling.

See a summary of the findings in this short video:

This literature review is accompanied by a series of eight case studies which document interesting and innovative approaches to engaging the public on climate change from around the world.
