In this film, artist Inês Zenha and curators João Mourão and Luísa Silva introduce the exhibition ‘Murky Waters’, reflecting on how artistic creation connects to identity and transformation.

Throughout the film, the artist and curators reflect on the creative process and on what makes the exhibition at CAM distinct, exploring the dialogue between painting and ceramics. Painting emerges as a space of freedom and personal discovery, while ceramics take on a more visceral quality, rooted in material and in the artist’s lived experience.

The film also considers how artistic practice relates to identity, the presence of natural elements in the work, and the capacity for resilience and transformation. It invites audiences to meet the unfamiliar with curiosity rather than fear or judgement.

The exhibition ‘Inês Zenha. Murky Waters’ offers an immersive experience that challenges convention and makes room for other ways of being in, and seeing, the world.
