Annual Review 2023
The 2023 UK Branch Annual Review highlights key activities and impact from the past year. In 2023, the Foundation launched a new five-year strategy, embedding equity and sustainability across all our work.
Our Access to Culture programme championed citizen leadership, supported grassroots organisations like The Agency and facilitated dialogues on devolution in the UK’s arts sector. Through a local cultural decision-making programme with Culture Commons and Birmingham Royal Ballet’s inclusive training programme, we strengthened local leadership and co-creation to tackle cultural inequalities.
Through our Climate and Ocean programme we deepened public engagement across climate action and effective ocean communications. Highlights include supporting transformative storytelling through Local Storytelling Exchange and Pledgeball, enabling community-led initiatives via Involve’s Local Climate Engagement work, and pioneering fair transition policies with the New Economics Foundation and IPPR.
From arts to environmental advocacy, our work demonstrates the power of collaboration. By bridging sectors and geographies, we’ve laid a foundation for impactful, sustainable and equitable progress.
