Created in the early 1950s, the choir made up of 20 Bulgarian women who sing stories from local folklore would come to be known as “The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices”. After being recorded by a Swiss ethnomusicologist, they gained unexpected worldwide popularity when, in the 1980s, the 4AD label unveiled their music to the world. Reaching the ears of followers of the most varied musical genres, they became a legend and continue to this day to spread the enchanting magic of voices that seem to transcend time.
