Handwritten note by José Maria Eugénio de Almeida on the project of Valentim José Correia for the garden of Santa Gertrudes palace, reading: “This is the original, to which I have made changes”.

Between 1866 and 1870, Jacob Weiss chose to develop the park in the English style. On November 9, 1867, he worked on the soil movement of the “terraced gardens” of the S. Sebastião da Pedreira Palace, the former palace of the Quinta de Fernando Larre.
