Aswat / The sounds

The music of Driss El Maloumi, Moroccan virtuoso of the lute, is a continuous search for the tarab – a state of “musical ecstasy”, a wonderment for both the one who plays and the one who listens to the notes inducing such a moment of sublimation. Trained in both classical traditions, Arabic and Western, El Maloumi stands out for his versatility and richness of execution that have led him to be a close collaborator of artists moving between erudite and traditional creation, such as Jordi Savall, Françoise Atlan or Ballaké Sissoko. Always with the rapture on the horizon.

Duration: 75 minutes without intermission
