After a period where he worked as an archaeologist in the Anatolia region, and where he composed soundtracks and played with the Ze Tije group, Ali Doğan Gönültaş decided to embark on a solo journey, visiting and reinterpreting 150 years of Eastern Anatolian musical history. Their first album, Kigi, is named after the town where Gönültaş was born and is the corollary of ten years of field research. A logic of safeguarding the tradition of the region, to which the musician lends his voice of enormous expressiveness, winding through ancestral melodies of touching beauty.
