L’Histoire du Soldat
A staged version of the celebrated story of a soldier who sells his soul to the devil in return for promises of wealth and power. Perhaps the most mysterious and enigmatic of all Stravinsky’s works, it will be performed by musicians of the Gulbenkian Orchestra conducted by Lorenzo Viotti. In this production, the conductor will demonstrate his versatility by also playing the part of narrator and percussionist. The show is directed by Jean Paul Bucchieri and features the actors Miguel Borges (Soldier), João Lagarto (Devil) and the ballerina Ana Jezabel.
