World Poetry Day

Between Poems. Portuguese and Sufi Voices

Event Slider

On March 21 we celebrate World Poetry Day and Noruz, the New Year of the Persian calendar.

Words meet music in this celebration of Portuguese and Sufi poetry. In a multicultural gathering, poems by Fernando Pessoa, Maria Gabriela Llansol, Rūmī, Khayyām, Ibn ʿArabī, Rābiʿa are read in their original language. The inspiring words of these and others Portuguese, Persian and Arabic poets are combined with live music.

This meeting is held as part of the exhibition Power of the Word IV. Divine Wisdom: The Sufi Way.
