In this conversation, curator Penelope Curtis will examine how artists respond to the exhibition Esculturas Infinitas. Do gesso ao digital (Infinite Sculpture: From the antique cast to the 3D scan) and to what extent the questions it prompts are similar or different.
The artists Francisco Tropa and Rogério Taveira have work on display in the exhibition and also saw the installation when it was shown at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. Belén Uriel, in turn, is an artist who will bring an outsider’s viewpoint to the debate: although she does not take part in the exhibition, she uses the casting technique profusely in her work. This conversation will focus on the artists and what this exhibition represents to them.
