China Fellows Announced

Khatchig Mouradian and Xi Yang will study the Armenian presence in China

Khatchig Mouradian and Xi Yang have won the Armenian Communities Department’s China Fellowships. They are now beginning their research into the Armenian Community in China.

The aim of this fellowship is to prepare the first phase of a possible longer term research project on the history of the community. The main tasks of the fellows are to:

  • Gather and synthesise the available information on the Armenian presence in China, focussing on the 20th Century.
  • Conduct interviews with descendants of the early 20th Century community.
  • Identify and contact experts and other knowledgeable people who might have information on the subject.
  • Gather archival material from relevant sources.
  • Prepare a research report.
