Federation of People’s Theatre – Slung Low

In early 2020, the Foundation supported Slung Low to establish a Federation of People’s Theatre (FPT), which brings together and provides peer support and learning for leading practitioners in the field of participatory people’s theatre (theatre which is made by, with and for the communities it serves).  The Foundation has contributed with a £100,000 grant towards this project.

Due to the pandemic, the project has been delayed by a year, with the first meeting of the FPT set to take place in Yorkshire in Autumn 2021.

The following organisations have accepted the invitation to be part of the FPT:

20 Stories High (Liverpool)

acta (Bristol)

Asylum Productions (Kilkenny)

Brighton People’s Theatre

Common Wealth Theatre (Bradford)

Curious Monkey (Newcastle)

National Theatre (London)

Quarantine (Manchester)

Slung Low (Holbeck, Leeds)

Terrestrial (South West)
