Lisa Davidsen made her Met Opera debut in 2019 in Suppé’s The Sword Lady and has since become one of the leading figures in New York opera theatre. At the time, the New York Times described the Norwegian soprano’s emergence as “a radiant debut… singing with confidence, vigour and intention, with freshness and maturity”. Davidsen is now, for the first time, taking on the role of Leonora, the protagonist of La forza del destino, in a new production of Verdi’s opera, staged by Mariusz Trelinski and screened live on Gulbenkian Música.
