* Fundo Antonio Fernández-Cid, Library of the Fundación Juan March

Duration 60 minutes (no intermission)

Galician concert songs have experienced a golden era thanks to the determined efforts of Antonio Fernández-Cid (1916–1995). One of the leading chroniclers of 20th-century Spanish music, this critic commissioned around eighty songs based on Galician poems from the leading composers of the time. This virtually unprecedented corpus is housed in the Biblioteca de la Fundación Juan March and is the basis for this last concert in the cycle dedicated to the lyrical repertoire for voice and piano in the different Iberian languages.
