In the last decade, Alexei Volodin has been regular guest of Gulbenkian Music with great success. The Russian pianist masters an amazing breadth of styles, rendering an extensive repertory with seldom seen technical brilliance. However, his virtuosity is not the end in itself. In a programme entirely devoted to Beethoven, he will perform Piano Concerto No. 5, led by conductor Jaime Martín, who, starting September 2019, will be the Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
