The project addresses the undermining of liberal democratic order due to disinformation, exacerbated by economic and political crises eroding trust in institutions and fueling polarization. This issue intensifies during election cycles, aiding anti-systemic and extremist groups. This project aims to counter disinformation’s impact on the EU Parliament and Presidential Elections in Slovakia). It seeks to monitor and expose anti-democratic narratives, false information, and opaque campaign financing. By comparing disinformation tactics in two countries and proposing recommendations, the project strives to bolster societal resilience against disinformation. This initiative forms a consortium for cross-country comparison of campaign transparency and disinformation spread. By assessing the channels and impact of disinformation, the project offers valuable insights for media, voters, and policymakers. Comparative analysis across Slovakia and Czechia, with shared European Parliament election procedures, contributes to a nuanced understanding of disinformation’s transnational dimensions.
