BRIF (Bridging Facts) is a groundbreaking project that aims to make a long-lasting impact on the delivery of media literacy to young people from deprived urban and suburban areas (in Paris, Barcelona and Naples), especially those from migrant backgrounds.

The project aims to create a positive ecosystem and a mindset shift among CSOs working with disadvantaged youth, to promote collaboration, build capacity through the co-creation of didactic tools, a multi-layered Train of Trainers digital information literacy program, and an innovative Challenge-based Learning phase. MIL will be transversally included into their work within the communities. BRIF will provide knowledge and a blueprint for inclusion of MIL within social action, therefore seeking a systemic impact and ultimately increasing social cohesion around Europe.

BRIF will start with a needs analysis of the target group and of the trainers, followed up by a process of didactic co-creation and training, culminating in an online, team-based debunking challenge based on a dedicated platform. Trainers coordinated by the partner CSOs will lead youngsters in an experiential learning process through which they will apply design thinking to debunk misinformation that affects their lives through the production of audiovisual debunking content (such as short videos or other multimedia outputs). The Challenge-Based learning process will be conducted at national level, and national winners will compete in a final international event. Winners of the final challenge will receive a prize and all participants will be certified as having taken part in the initiative, which is thought and to become an annual event, as replicability and scalability through partnerships are embedded in the design of this project.
