Held on July 15th and 16th, in Lisbon, the conference provided a platform for members of media organisations, fact-checking entities, and research groups to explore impactful projects supported by EMIF.

The conference spotlighted the extensive reach of the Fund, which in its third year of operation has financed 81 projects across 25 countries, totaling €12.4 million. These projects, detailed in the latest annual progress report, align with EMIF strategic priorities: supporting fact-checking actions, investigating misinformation, promoting research, and enhancing media literacy.

In addition to outlining EMIF’s areas of focus, the conference offered attendees a comprehensive overview of the Fund’s recent activities, including the evaluation of 184 project proposals for funding in the past year alone and showcased some of its funded projects.

By fostering networking opportunities and facilitating knowledge exchange, the EMIF Summer Conference not only shed light on the Fund’s endeavors but also encouraged discussions on promoting truthful, clear, and transparent information to citizens worldwide, both within and beyond Europe.
