Proposals from 14 countries received for Fact-Checking Call
The European Media and Information Fund closed, on 2 March 2022, the first funding round of the Call for Proposals under the priority area “Boosting Fact-checking Activities in Europe”. This funding round was open since 2 November 2021 with the total allocation of €435.000.
20 applications were received with a total funding requested of €1.389.461,03.
The lead applicants are based in 14 different countries, including two applications received from each of the following countries: Bulgaria, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the United Kingdom; and one application from Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Lithuania, Portugal, Slovakia, and Switzerland. 11 applications were submitted under priority “Urgent Actions” and 9 applications under priority “Scale-up Projects”. These proposals will now undergo an initial admissibility check and all admissible proposals will then assessed by a multinational team of independent evaluators.
