Fighting Misinformation Online

Tue, 29 November 2022 / 08:00 – 18:30 CET

Combating the spread of misinformation online is one of the biggest issues facing us. Join the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the European University Institute, Google and YouTube for the next Fighting Misinformation Online summit on 29 November at De Warande, Brussels and online.

The event will be hosted by Annette Kroeber-Riel, (VP, Government Affairs & Public Policy, Europe at Google) and will be the third in our series, bringing together European policy makers, NGOs, media organisations, academics and tech companies to collaborate and share knowledge around tackling misinformation.

We’ll hear from those working across the misinformation landscape including:
Věra Jourová, Vice President for Values and Transparency, European Commission
Jon Ronson, non-fiction author and documentary maker
Krisztina Stump, Head of Unit, Media Convergence and Social Media, European Commission
Alexander Stubb, former President of Finland and Director at the European University Institute
Tali Sharot, Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London
Rasmus Kleis Nielsen, Director, Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism

In-person attendance is now full, but there is a waitlist to join. Alternatively, join us virtually in the afternoon to participate in the live broadcast programme from 13:00 CET.
