Trio Aeternus with Cihat Askin
Trio Aeternus, in collaboration with Chihat Askin, will play Armenian, Turkish and European classical music in the Grand Auditorium of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Four musicians of different backgrounds will be united through the common language of music.
Trio Aeternus is composed by Alexander Stewart, Varoujan Bartikian, and Lucjan Luc. In 2013, after many years of friendship, these three classical musicians, a Polish pianist, an Armenian cellist and an English violinist, decided to form a Piano Trio. They state: True friendship is eternal as is great music thus the choice of the name “ Aeternus. ” Below you can view performance of the Trio Aeternus playing Elegie- Arno Babajanian.
Chihat Askin is a prominent Turkish musician. Born in Istanbul he performed his first recital at age 12 and has shared the stage with several world famous musicians. He has received a number of awards, including the Foyer des Artistes award in 2002 and the J. F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts – Gold Medal award in 2009.
