Innovation in Education: Challenges in Teaching Western Armenian in the 21st Century

An international conference will take place in Paris, at Inalco, on September 21 and 22, 2015.

The Conference, Innovation in Education: Challenges in Teaching Western Armenian in the 21st Century, will take place in Paris, at Inalco, on September 21 and 22, 2015.  Gil Schmerler (Bank Street College, New York) is the keynote speaker.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together specialists of language acquisition and teaching, scholars as well as stakeholders of successful models of second language / heritage language teaching, concerning the Armenian language and comparable situations, in order to outline the priorities of an applied research program for the Western Armenian language today.

This is an initiative organized by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Armenian Communities Department) in collaboration with the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Inalco). It will be co-chaired by Anaïd Donabédian (IRD/INALCO/AUB) and Ani Garmiryan (Armenian Communities Department).

This conference is part of the Armenian Communities Department Armenians in 2115 Series.
