Razmik Panossian visited Lebanon in March in order to present the Programming Plan and the Schools Report to local Armenian community leaders, educators and the general public.

Programming Plan

The main presentation of the Plan took place at Haigazian University on 28^th March.

Reverend Dr. Paul Haydossian, the President of Haigazian University, provided the opening comments. He congratulated the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on the new Plan, drawing particular attention to the consultative manner in which it was produced. He highlighted the Foundation’s role in encouraging dialogue, from which other organisations can draw inspiration.

His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia released this assessment regarding the department’s new direction.

Lebanon Schools Report

The Schools Report on Armenian education in Lebanon was commissioned by the Armenian Communities Department and written by Dr. Hourig Attarian of Concordia University. Dr. Attarian and Dr. Panossian.  Presented the study to various school boards and to educators, teachers and principals.

The educational professionals’ reaction to the report was positive, and their feedback will help to shape our future programming in the region.
