Gulbenkian Orchestra

Son of conductor Marcello Viotti, the last winner of the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award, Lorenzo Viotti began as a percussionist with the Vienna Philharmonic, only afterwards following in his father’s footsteps as an orchestral conductor. When he stood in front of the Camerata Salzburg, his performance was considered by the jury to be the starting point for an important career. In these concerts, he conducts the Gulbenkian Orchestra for the first time, in a demanding and challenging programme that brings together emblematic works from the repertoire of Wagner, Chausson, Debussy and Scriabin.
