Gulbenkian Orchestra

French conductor Stéphane Denève i sone of the main heirs of the teachings from Georg Solti, Georges Prêtre e Seiji Ozawa, the great master with whom he worked in the beginning of his career. He is the current Musical Director of the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchesta, and will conduct the Gulbenkian Orchestra for the first time at the Grand Auditorium. Also making her debut in the Grand Auditorium at Gulbenkian, Denève is joined by the pianistic sensitivity of Yulianna Avdeeva, winner of the Chopin Competition in 2010, to whom Gramophone magazine refers as “an artist who is truly able to make the piano sing”.
