Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationFirst concert of a new residency by the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which will culminate in a series of four concerts. Since it was founded by Claudio Abbado in Vienna in 1986/87, the orchestra has become a lure for all the great emerging European talents, achieving an unbeatable reputation for feisty and sweeping interpretations from the outset. This is how this particularly demanding cycle, from Mozart to Schönberg, begins, under the direction of one of the great revelations in orchestral conducting in recent years, Tobias Wögerer.
