Pierre Hantaï

Event Slider

The French harpsichordist Pierre Hantaï began to be known for his interpretations of the Goldberg Variations, by J. S. Bach, a composer for whom he had developed an irresistible fixation since he was a child. Later, he added to this specialisation a particular interest in the works of Domenico Scarlatti. Gramophone magazine described his four albums dedicated to the Italian composer – who establishes here the bridge to a repertoire with an Iberian focus – as the “the sublime result of artistic mastery committed to the task of communicating Scarlatti’s ever delightful genius”.
