Grand Auditorium Calouste Gulbenkian FoundationDirected by Gianandrea Noseda, the Cadaqués Orchestra was founded in 1988 to explore collaborations with living composers, recover the legacy of long-forgotten Spanish music and boost the careers of emerging artists, composers and conductors. “The fact that it is a Mediterranean-based ensemble and has a clear cosmopolitan feel”, argues conductor Neville Marriner, “makes it a unique orchestra”. Despite this clear founding matrix, its particular character has also contributed to shedding new light on major works such as Mozart’s Requiem.
