Katarina Bradić

Mezzo-soprano

Serbian mezzo-soprano Katarina Bradić first came to international attention in 2009/2010 as a member of the ensemble of the Vlaamse Opera, where she made sensation as Medea in Cavalli’s Giasone. Soon, she established herself as one of the most requested mezzo-sopranos of our days, making her debuts at Staatsoper Berlin, Glyndebourne Festival, Aix-en-Provence Festival, Teatro Real Madrid, BBC Proms, as well as the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Other career highlights include the title role of The Rape of Lucretia for Deutsche Oper Berlin, Pistocchi’s Il narciso at Cologne Opera, Nico and the Navigators’ Mahlermania for Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Among her engagements in 2016/17 were Penelope in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria (La Monnaie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Theater an der Wien) under the baton of René Jacobs; Carmen at the Norwegian Opera of Oslo as well as Bradamante in Alcina at Theater Basel conducted by Andrea Marcon. Her 2017/18 engagements include her debut at the Bolshoi Theatre as well as a new production of Semele at Komische Oper Berlin.

Katarina Bradić has collaborated with conductors and stage directors such as Semyon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, Donald Runnicles; Laurent Pelly, Guy Joosten, Stefan Herheim, Christoph Marthaler, Calixto Bieito, Katie Mitchell, Fiona Shaw, Sebastian Baumgarten, and Mariame Clément.
