Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004

Duration: 105 minutes

The first Italian musician to win the prestigious Tchaikovsky Prize, cellist Mario Brunello has earned a well-deserved reputation for the sublime expressiveness of his performances. In recent years Brunello has also devoted himself to recovering and promoting the piccolo cello (an instrument popular in the 17th and 18th centuries), for which he created the Brunello Bach Series, a project that includes three albums with various pieces by the German composer. The first of these recordings, received under a chorus of praise, was entitled Sonatas and Partitas.
