For the third concert in the Coro Gulbenkian A Cappella mini-cycle, maestro Jorge Matta has devised a Christmas programme. He has selected a number of inspired compositions alluding to this festive event composed over a vast time span, from the Middle Ages to the present day. The programme is divided into three parts – the Annunciation of our Lady, Christmas Eve and the Christ Child – separated by two chorales from J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, performed by organist Sérgio Silva.
