Do you know which of the two hundred pieces purchased by Calouste Gulbenkian from René Lalique was the most expensive of all? It is a female figure, made of silver with glass components…and it is not the “Dragonfly-woman” corsage ornament, the iconic piece of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum. Luísa Sampaio, the curator of the exhibition “René Lalique and the Age of Glass”, reveals this secret in a short video where she also introduces Lalique as the true Inventor of the Modern Jewelry.
