Reopening of the 18th and 19th-centuries Painting and Sculpture Gallery
The 19th-century French Painting and Sculpture Gallery has now been reopened after the renovation of the support panels and other improvements to technical infrastructure. The sculptures are exhibited in sections placed throughout the room, and the paintings have been reorganised in the gallery so as to privilege the most relevant groups in the collection, as is already the case with the museum’s impressionist painting section. The Guardi Room and the space dedicated to 18th-century English painting have also been reopened.
The renovations were supported by Credit Suisse.
