In the second conference associated with the exhibition Splendour in Venice. From Canaletto to Guardi, the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum welcomes Francesco Dal Co, Professor Emeritus and specialist in the History of Architecture.
Dal Co will propose a reflection on the art produced in the ‘Serenissima’ throughout the centuries, expanding the chronology addressed in the exhibition. This panorama of Venetian art focuses on three of the city’s greatest native artists: Bellini, Canaletto, and Piranesi.
This event will be presented in Italian with simultaneous translation to Portuguese.

Francesco Dal Co
Professor Emeritus of History of Architecture, Iuav University of Venice
He has taught at Yale University and at the Academy of Architecture of the University of Italian Switzerland. He has honorary degrees from the Ghent Polytechnic and the University of Porto. He directed the Architecture section of the Venice Biennale and the Architecture division of the Electa publishing house. Honorary Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and editor of «Casabella» magazine since 1966.
